These terms cover the use of this website and the quotes we issue through it. Work we actually carry out is governed by whatever we agree with you in writing at the time, which takes precedence over anything here.
Using this site
You may read, print and share these pages for your own use. Do not attempt to disrupt the site, gain unauthorised access to it, or use it to send anything unlawful.
Quotes and enquiries
Submitting a form does not create a contract. It starts a conversation.
A quote we send is an offer to carry out described work at a stated price, valid for the period stated on it, or 30 days if none is stated. Hardware prices depend on distributor pricing at the time of order and can change between quote and purchase; where that happens we will tell you before ordering rather than absorb or pass on the difference silently.
A quote becomes a contract when you accept it in writing and we confirm.
Work we carry out
We will carry out work with reasonable skill and care, in line with what a competent practitioner in our field would do. Where we recommend equipment or an approach, that recommendation reflects our honest judgement of what suits your situation.
Hardware carries the manufacturer’s warranty. We will help you make a claim under it, but we are not the manufacturer and we do not extend or replace that warranty.
Your data and backups
Any work on a computer or network carries some risk to data. Where a job involves that risk we will say so, and we will normally recommend or take a backup first. You remain responsible for having your own backups of anything you cannot afford to lose. We will not be liable for data loss where no usable backup existed.
Limits of our liability
Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.
Otherwise, our liability for any single piece of work is limited to the amount you paid us for it. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss — lost profit, lost business, or lost data — beyond that amount.
Third-party sites
Where we link to another site we do so because we think it is useful. We do not control it and are not responsible for its content or its handling of your information.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, United States, and disputes fall to the courts of Virginia.
